Community HousingWorks and Sun Ranch Capital Partners broke ground on May 13 for the affordable housing project. The project will offer an array of amenities and support services to increase financial and housing stability and overall wellness. Completion of the Portola Senior Apartments is anticipated for Fall 2023. The current ownership is Portola Senior Housing Associates, LP. The project is currently under construction. The developer, National Core Renaissance, took applications and will hold a lottery to identify residents. The Meadows Senior Affordable Apartments The Meadows property (formerly "Nakase") was previously a wholesale plant nursery. It was approved by Planning Commission on August 19, 2021. The project includes a two-story 65-unit apartment complex, including 64 senior affordable units (of which 7 will be permanent supportive housing) and one market-rate manager’s unit, and associated site improvements. The project site is located on an approximately 2.6-acre lot in the Nakase Planned Community located on the southeast corner of the intersection of Rancho Parkway and Bake Parkway.
