首页 Government Elections ELECTIONS General Election - November 2022 In the 2022 election, Council seats held by Neeki Moatazedi (District 2), Scott Voigts (District 3) and Mark Tettemer (District 4) will be up for election. Qualified Candidates Contact List for Member of the City Council 2022 Nomination Papers Issued The City of Lake Forest consolidates with the County of Orange Registrar of Voters Office for all municipal elections. The City Clerk serves as the elections official and the Clerk’s Office is responsible for all candidates’ filings, the issuance and acceptance of nomination papers, City measures and publication of all legal notices as well as campaign and conflict of interest filings required by the Fair Political Practices Commission. The general municipal elections for the City are held on the first Tuesday in November of even-numbered years for the purpose of electing City Council members or placing special measures before the voters. The City Council is made up of five city council members that are nominated and elected by District. The Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem are selected by a vote of their peers annually at a City Council meeting in December, to serve the following calendar year. The City Council members are non-partisan. City Council members each serve a four-year term, with a maximum of two consecutive four-year terms. At the next City election, to be held on November 8, 2022 Districts 2, 3 and 4 will be up for election. To be eligible to be elected to the office of city council, a person must be a qualified voter and a resident of the district from which the candidate is nominated at the time nomination papers are issued as provided for in the Elections Code of the State of California.
