Inicio Departments City Clerk City Clerk The City Clerk is the local official who administers democratic processes such as elections, access to city records, and all legislative actions ensuring transparency to the public. The City Clerk acts as a compliance officer for federal, state, and local statutes, including the Political Reform Act, the Brown Act, and the Public Records Act. The City Clerk’s Office serves as a liaison between citizens and government and is committed to professionalism, integrity, and accountability and is responsible for the following functions: Administration Reception to City Hall Manages public inquiries Accepts Claims, Summons, and Subpoenas Conducts Bid Openings Provides Notary Services Administrative Fee Schedule Clerk of the City Council Prepares and disseminates meeting agendas and minutes Records and maintains video recordings of meetings Prepares Commendations and Recognition Certificates Posts Public Notices and facilitates publications to remain compliant with legal requirements Processes all Resolutions, Ordinances, Contracts, and attests official documents Coordinates the Commission appointment process, in accordance with the Maddy Act. Local Appointment List (Maddy Act) Government Coordinates with Orange County Registrar of Voters to conduct Elections and facilitates Voter Registration Accepts nomination papers and assists candidates in meeting their legal responsibilities before, during and after an election Serves as the filing officer for the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) and coordinates the filings of all Campaign Disclosure Statements filed by candidates, City elected and appointed officials and Statements of Economic Interest (Form 700) for members of the City Council, designated employees, and committee members Administers and files Oaths of Office Records Attests, Notarizes, and Certifies documents Records Deeds and Grants which convey an interest to the City Official Custodian of Records, managing legislative history of the City Updates and publishes the Lake Forest Municipal Code Responds to Public Records Requests, in compliance with the Public Records Act Publishes Online Records and oversees electronic document management system Passports Passport Services are available by Appointment Only on Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
