Home Departments Public Works Capital Improvement Projects Civic Center Project Project Budget PROJECT BUDGET Public Facility Fees are fees paid by developers for each new housing unit built since 2011. Public Facility Fees are the primary funding source for the Civic Center project, most likely allowing the City to pay for this project in cash (like the Sports Park). Based upon Design Development phase, subject to change once Construction Documents are finalized, the total construction cost is estimated to be approximately $72.7 million. The overall project budget comprised of hard costs (e.g. construction costs and contingency) and soft costs (e.g. architectural, construction management, insurance, resource agency permit compliance, etc.) will be determined based upon final design. The City has roughly $40 million saved through developer fees. The remaining total will come from fees associated with new residential developments. The maintenance costs for the new Civic Center are anticipated to be covered by the budget currently allocated for lease payments on the existing City Hall facility.
