Home Government City Council Statements of Economic Interests (Conflict of Interest) STATEMENTS OF ECONOMIC INTERESTS (CONFLICT OF INTEREST) FPPC Form 700 (also referred to as the Conflict of Interests form) The Political Reform Act of 1974 requires persons holding specified public offices to file disclosures of investments, real property interests, and income within specified periods of assuming or leaving office and annually while holding the office. Elected officials are required by State Law to file their Statements of Economic Interests - FPPC Form 700 with the City Clerk, who makes and retains a copy of each statement and forwards the original to the California Fair Political Practices Commission "FPPC", which is the filing officer. The following officials file Statements of Economic Interests - Form 700. * City Council Members * Commissioners * City Manager * City Attorney * Finance Director * other designated members Public officials and designated employees must file Statements of Economic Interest. Public officials are specified in Government Code Section 87200. Additionally, candidates for elected positions are required to file a Candidate statement. Employees designated in the City of Lake Forest's Conflict of Interest Code and certain consultants who hold positions that involve making or participating in the making of decisions, which may foreseeably have a material effect on the holder’s financial interests also must file. People in these positions must file Statements of Economic Interests – Form 700 pursuant to the disclosure categories specified in the City's Conflict of Interest Code.
