30th Anniversary

The City of Lake Forest is celebrating its 30th Anniversary during 2021. Founded by Don Jose Serrano, the City incorporated on December 20, 1991 and merged the areas of Foothill Ranch and El Toro. Lake Forest, located in the heart of South Orange County, is known for its charm of a small community with the convenience of a large metropolitan city. The City’s motto, “remember the past, challenge the future,” is the Lake Forest way of life and ensures Lake Forest will always be an ideal place for business to prosper and people to live, work and play. 

Over the past three decades, the City has grown and welcomed new developments throughout the City. Although the City will continue to grow in the coming years, with no large undeveloped parcels slated for development, the City is focused on maintaining Lake Forest's beauty and transitioning into a maintenance city, which encompasses repairing roads and highways, caring for public parks, and providing other public services to improve the quality of life for Lake Forest residents.
